Focus on Your Day

So this is it. It’s the morning of your long awaited wedding. You’re going to have the time of your life, marry the man of your dreams and be the centre of attention all day and night. And I know from experience that the next twenty-four hours are going to fly by.

 So before you rush headlong into this fabulous whirlwind of fun – people fussing around you, taking photographs, wanting to soak up your wonderful aura – start the day with a little meditation exercise to calm your mind, focus your thoughts and just ‘be’.

 While you can, take ten minutes to yourself. Go to your bedroom, put a Do Not Disturb sign outside and lock the door.

♥ As you lie – or stand – there, close your eyes and take some deep breaths. Imagine a beautiful white rod of light entering your body from above you, through your head.

♥ Inhale and visualise the white light filling your body with positive energy and love.

♥ Exhale and imagine any worries, nerves, tiredness or negativity leaving your body on the out-breath.

♥ Breathe in again and this time, as you breathe out, say the words, ‘I am beautiful.’

♥ On the next out-breath, say, ‘I am confident.’

♥ And on the next say, ‘I am loved.’

♥ All the while, visualise that white light filling every cell of your body with its positive energy and radiating out into your immediate surroundings.

You can repeat these affirmations as many times as you want.

 If at any time during the day you need some calm and stillness, try to find five minutes on your own, breathe deeply and return your mind to the white light.
