Born and raised in the Maritimes, Joan Clark lived for more than 20 years in Western Canada before returning to the East and settling in Newfoundland. She is the author of a number of award- winning books for adults as well as seven acclaimed children’s books, including The Word for Home and The Dream Carvers. She lives in St. John’s.
